John David McCay, Sr., Chairman of the Board and Founding Board Member
David's background spans over 20 years of entrepreneurial experience and corporate success. He was the founder of Pharmaceutical Buyers, Inc. Under David's guidance and leadership the company became the largest diversified non-hospital buying group in the US. It was sold in 1995 to a US-based public company. David has also been instrumental in the creation and success of several other companies including Strategic Healthcare Programs (SHP), a medical data company located in Santa Barbara California and The Bounty Hunter, a fine wine accessories distribution company located in Napa, California. David is a shareholder in both companies and the Chairman of SHP.
Prior to his entrepreneurial days David practiced pharmacy in various retail settings in Arkansas and Missouri. He also served as the first president of the Arkansas Consultant Pharmacist Society in 1980 and an adjunct faculty member for the University Of Arkansas College Of Pharmacy. He holds a BS in Pharmacy from the University of Arkansas Medical Campus in Little Rock.
David and his wife reside in Crested Butte, Colorado and St. John, US Virgin Islands.
William L. Stoehr, Board Member
Bill is the past President of National Geographic Maps, responsible for the National Geographic Society's worldwide mapping operations. He began his career and longstanding affiliation with the National Geographic Society when it acquired Trails Illustrated, a company he co-owned with his wife Mary Kay. He is currently an advisor and media spokesperson for National Geographic. Prior to entering the map business, Stoehr worked in various executive roles for two major electrical equipment manufacturers, General Electric and Cooper Power Systems.
In addition to serving on the Pii board, William is currently a Director of Big City Mountaineers, a non-profit, wilderness experience program for inner-city, at-risk teens. He also serves in various capacities in the National Leadership Council for the American Hiking Society, NG TOPO (a subsidiary of National Geographic), the American Discovery Trail Society, and Volunteers for Outdoor Colorado.
Bill is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin, has an MBA from the University of St. Thomas, and was a resident in the marketing doctoral program at the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School at Northwestern University. He and his wife reside in Boulder, Colorado and St. John, US Virgin Islands.
