Children as young as three understand differences between themselves and others and begin to take on the attitudes and prejudices around them - which later can lead to conflict-oriented behavior.

The Peace Initiatives Institute (Pii) is unique in focusing on changing the attitudes and behavior of young children as a path toward peace. We're teaching three- to five-year-old and primary school aged children to respect their physical, racial, and sectarian differences.

What distinguishes Pii is the use of mass media to teach messages of respect, often with the use of in-class curriculum, in a research-based, measurable strategy, called Media Initiatives For Children (MIFC). MIFC help shape young children's values and, ultimately, their perspective and actions as adults.

Children are our future, no matter what country they are in. Join us in helping them to create new dialogues that will increase understanding and, ultimately, build peace.
