Delivery – Effectiveness – Measuring Impact
When Pii enters a region and engages in a conflict situation, it assesses a number of factors relevant to delivering its program to preschool children. Working with its local partners, Pii evaluates:
- Which media and methods are likely to be most effective in reaching the selected audiences
- The accessibility to those media as well as other delivery mechanisms or support materials
- Cultural and social implications of the media, messages and methods, not only for the children, but their family and educational environments
- Choosing components for media; messages that match the culture of the community, testing them with young children, parents, and teachers
After determining these factors, Pii, its partners, and associated experts test the effectiveness of the media messages and support materials. Do they increase young children's awareness of exclusion and their positive attitudes toward differences? Armed with the answer to this question, Pii can refine the evaluative research instrument in preparation of the full evaluation on the complete initiative. Pii can also choose the most effective elements of the media messages and support materials. Script and character revisions are made and continue to be made in response to these audience responses. |
